Because of the layout of the bay, the beach undergoes very little undercurrent, making it one of the safest and most beautiful in the Basque Country. It most admirable feature is the calmness of its waters, which contrasts with most of the nearby beaches. Besides, the small wave that forms at the mouth of the estuary is perfect for surfing or kayaking beginners. It is an ideal destination for families with children and to practice surfing, paddle surf and kayaking. The beach is watched by lifeguards and equipped with loudspeakers, restrooms, showers, changing rooms, fountains and waste bins.
